Samed Djedović

Dr. Samed Djedović, a specialist in internal medicine, subspecialist cardiologist, master of medical sciences. Head of the cardiology department of the Medical Institute Special Hospital “Medical Institute Bayer”. His special field of interest and activity relates to the invasive treatment of heart rhythm disorders, and he is one of the first in the field of electrophysiology in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Experienced interventional cardiologist.

Biography

He was born on August 18, 1979 in Gradačac where he finished elementary school. He gratuated from medical high school Tuzla, and in 2006 completed his medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine-  University of Tuzla, In the academic year 2006-2007. In 2007, he served his internship at the University of Applied Sciences Tuzla, and in the period between 2007 and 2009 worked at the Emergency Medical Service of the Gradačac Health Center. In April 2009, he was employed at the Special Hospital “Medical Institute Bayer” Tuzla, the Department of Cardiac Surgery where he was awarded a specialization in General Surgery in September 2009. Based on the current needs of the Health Institute of the Special Hospital “Medical Institute Bayer” Tuzla, he was transferred to the Interventional Cardiology Department in 2011 and stopped his specialization in General Surgery. Instead, he started his  new specialization in Internal Medicine.

In 2012, he successfully completed “Doppler Ultrasound Diagnosis of Blood Vessel Diseases-XXVII” education at KBC Dubrava. The certificate of the  previously mentioned education was obtained from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Medicine. In the period between 2012 and 2015. Dr. Djedovic organizes courses of color doppler examination of peripheral arteries at the “Medical Institute Bayer” Regional Hospital.

In December 2012, he defended his master’s thesis entitled “Surgical revascularization in elderly patients with and without of cardiopulmonary bypass”. In April 2014, he was approved to write a doctoral dissertation entitled “Correlation of the degree of obliterative disease of peripheral and coronary arteries”.

He received the title of internal medicine specialist after passing the specialist exam in October 2014. In April 2015, he was appointed as the head of the electrophysiological department of the Health Institution of the Special Hospital “Medical Institute Bayer” Tuzla, as part of the electrophysiological treatment of heart rhythm disorders program.

In the period beteen April 2015 and May 2017, he attended his education in Norway (Electrophysiology department Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet, Norway), and in the same period, together with the electrophysiology team from Oslo, he performed periodic invasive electrophysiological treatments of supraventricular arrhythmias by radiofrequency ablation at his home institution. Dr. Djedovic is, since May 2017, certified for the independent performance of electrophysiological procedures that include: electrophysiological studies and radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of supraventricular arrhythmias, pacemaker implantation,  CRT and ICD devices (Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet, Norway).

In September 2017, he passed the subspecialist exam, after which he received the title of Cardiologist subspecialist.

During 2021, he attended educations at KBC Dubrava, Zagreb in the field of electrophysiological treatment of complex arrhythmias.
